What is the EPC?
The Economic Policy Committee and its working groups prepare the agenda for the monthly ECOFIN meetings in the area of structural reforms.
Who are the members of the EPC?
They are officials, experts, and economists from finance and economics affairs ministries in the 28 Member States of the European Union, the ECB and the European Commission. Every Member State sends two delegates to the meetings in Brussels.
How often does the EPC meet?
It normally meets once a month, usually a week and a half beore the ECOFIN meeting.
Who chairs the EPC?
One EPC member is elected as President every two years, and he/she is assisted by three Vice-Presidents.
Can I attend their meetings or read the documents they produce?
The meetings of the EPC and its working groups are confidential. However, reports or opinions prepared by the Committee are in principle publicly available.
